I have organized and constructed a guidebook for my (Lorin Drexler) guitar/ukulele and songwriting courses. I call it NOTEbOOK. In addition to being an integral part of my teachings, it’s also great refresher material to revisit in the future.
INTRODUCTION via NOTEbOOK
Hi, my name is Lorin Drexler. I’ve been playing guitar, singing, and making music since I was a teenager, having written hundreds of songs. My endeavor is to teach you how easy it can be to become a guitar-playing songwriter, and as well, for you to learn to become your own teacher as you continue down this path.
Music and songwriting have always been a spiritual practice of mine. It’s journey of storytelling and a discovery of soul. I hope NOTEbOOK will open the same doors for you as you travel into this unknown world.
BELOW is a brief synopsis about NOTEbOOK and our sessions:
There is very little music theory in NOTEbOOK, only a few basic principles to understand on a need-to-know basis. Other than the simple edifice of tablature, we will not be reading music (i.e. notation). I’ve organized and constructed this course packet to keep things lively and moving forward. It’s also great refresher material to revisit in the future.
I teach basic guitar with accented professional appeal and rhythmic structure. My intention is to guide you to create your own original music using straightforward techniques anyone could acquire. My goal is for you to know the basics on guitar and to write your own songs independently. You already have what it takes, I’m just here to show you the signposts and bring that concept to life.
WHAT you will need for our lessons:
- Notebook
- Pencil or Pen
- Guitar Tuner
- Guitar Picks
- Acoustic Guitar (It could electric if you have a small amp)
