Tree
i’ve seen words
in spectravision
and spatters of paint
like orgasms
or carbonated car crashes
rising from the graves
and slogging through
the streets
on their march
to and from
the ether
the young man
explores his mind
under a tree
with bark weavings like a conch
sounding off
revelations of the
universe. micro-edits
of its genesis—it is you,
the entire ocean, in color
our spirit guide
stuck between the conscious
and the deprivated
where those in meditative
drifts spill dreams
of spirit children prosed
on paper as mother
flips her pages with twigs
the panoramic child, from storm clouds
vistas the ether
while huffed through
and exploding amidst
in arrays
of vibrant red orange
black aqua blue
light orange yellow
pink black,
slightly fluorescent and high
the art creates itself
the images, themselves
things amongst things
amongst themselves
in a painting within
a painting like a diagram
set across the horizon
dreaming inside itself
as one
in tandem
crossing eyes
with the paradox of self
in itself within one-self
scattered in all

Kre8 (b.USA), born Kevin Vigil, is a 37-year-old artist with German and Hispanic background.
A true-to-life artist, I live, sleep, eat, and breathe art. My background comes from graffiti introduced to me at the age of 14. In my 20’s, I was inspired by Salvador Dali. He really changed the way that I looked at art. I remember him saying, ”what you see is not always what you see.” I have combined some styles such as graffiti, surreal-realism, abstract, and cubism. I have been working on these and mastering them for the last five years into one style I call Faceless.
My art is a movement in the present time. This is the reason that I’m painting everything in black and grey. The world is such a grey area, so it is my abstract responsibility to inspire the new generation. We have become a reflection of what we think people want to see. There isn’t any more truth in the world right now.
I have lived in many places, such as Germany, Denver, New Jersey, New York, and of course, Miami. I love to see other cultures and the way other people think, it’s so inspirational. I know I was put on this planet to Kre8. I think one of my biggest accomplishments is inspiring others to do art. If you focus hard enough, your dream will become reality.”
