an organic circus dances along the horizon the paper tears and a cage roars in the distance she holds her headphones close to her heart her mind scrambles in red boxes and electricity eyes swim like dream fish or dead fish or bed fish or sharks in twilight’s illusory palinopsia stripes and similar sorts govern the pattern of the ruling universe— brief she’s royalty in this rolling fifth dimension where the sun is recognized as nothing more than a pale fragment of a scattered pearl idol as it sets it continues to clone and ghost itself within overlapping segments of reflective memorabilia her eyes are soft and melting between the absence of thought and the dream of new arrival her lips make lucid sounds, shivering and eating love whole the songbird ricochets the chorus is sad the game is red and spiraling there is much love unseen between them much love in the inertia between the stars and the ripples that spit fire at the drum it beats they swing together the universe and the void are one they have found the token other they have learned about static they finally know what the seer means there are no less obstacles nothing held between them nothing further to discuss all is lost, infinitely and yet, all shall still remain by LORIN DREXLER
Vanished Art (aka Sally Ann Jimenez) is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist from Phoenix, AZ. At a very young age art became a passion in her life. Growing up homeless at the age of 7, she found solace in her creativity; refocusing her energy on the positive and away from the reality of her upbringing. As she grew older, the desire to share her message and vision through her art grew as well. Her creations symbolize duality, growth, and diversity.
Furthering her academic knowledge, Sally studied exploratory arts at Arizona State University in 2011. By 2017, she was invited to participate in her first show with the traveling art company, Conception Arts, during their Phoenix chapter. She was featured in Voyage Phoenix’s “Most Inspiring Stories” in 2018. The following year, Sally performed in the experimental show, 7 Poets & 11 Artists, organized by the My Beauty Within movement. As a follow-up project, Sally collaborated once again with MBW on the SCREAM Project (the fight against depression), providing an insider’s look on being an artist in her shoes. More recently, Sally exhibited at the Mesa Artspace Lofts gallery, which is a multipurpose facility where she currently resides and is working on building her art business, Vanished Art. Sally also loves to utilize her talents to volunteer; she’s painted for the Fallen Artist project inside the Monarch Theatre in downtown Phoenix and donated an interactive mural, that engaged community participation, to the Oak St Alley Mural Festival.
Sally paints, makes dreamcatchers, writes poetry, enjoys photography, makes crystal crafts, and does henna tattoos. She refuses to stick to one medium and her process reflects this.
