eat the light
i’ve tried to eat the light but I feel too broken as if time were water in the eye the clock ticks and i watch it folded into my arms at the dining room table like a nervous mime god or some other insignificant relic chosen by some other insignificant creator i light a match and hope something comes from it nothing so i light another i wanna scream but i’m afraid someone will hear i’m afraid i will i try spiritual texts and prayers nothing so i try them again i’m not homeless but i am without a home i’m not alone but i am surrounded by smoke and breaking glass i just don’t understand what it means to be yourself or have yourself i hear things like this and though they sound pleasant enough i’m not sure what they mean i'm not sure anyone does... i'm not sure anyone knows what anything means so many thoughts and ideas about so many stupid and insipid things that fulfill nothing and speak to no one and that's just what they are things upon things people bored about a way of life that will never fill the quarry i wanna run but i'm frozen i stand inside a fire i built and try to dethaw nothing so i try again but this time unlike the rest i feel the fire doing what it was meant to do and i then know the empire this was all built upon has been anesthetized and is just now waking in the flames by LORIN DREXLER
